President of NOC Honorable Jeevan Ram Shrestha bade farewell to the judo team participating in the Asian Oceania Cadet and Junior Judo Championship to be held in Beirut, Lebanon on Sunday.
The team with 5 participant's including the coach is participating in the competition to be held from December 2nd to 5th.
Mohan Sunuwar is the coach of the team while Devaki Maya Shrestha will compete in junior under 52 kg, Subodh Mandal in junior under 60 kg, Nisha Shrestha in under 48 kg, and Tara Bahadur Bhujel in under 55 kg.
On the occasion, NOC President Shrestha wished success to the team and expressed confidence that the players would be able to perform well. NOC Vice President and Executive Director Chaturananda Rajbaidya was also present on the program.
Nisha and Subodh have already participated in international competitions. This will be Nisha and Tara Bahadur's first international participation. President of Nepal Judo Association Mr. Deepak Harsh Vajracharya will participate in the competition as an expert. He will also attend a meeting of the executive committee of the Judo Union of Asia (JUA). Vajracharya is also the Education and Coaching Director of JUA. Similarly, Suprasidha Tamrakar will be participating in the competition as Sports Director IT Expert. Four players participating in the competition have been selected from the selection competition held in September.
