In the memory of World Legend Late Nelson Mandela, Nepal Olympic Committee organized the condolence program on 15 December, 2013 at the NOC premises. Office bearers of NOC, President of various National Federations, Sport lovers and journalists were presented at the program. Mr. Jeevan Ram Shrestha, Secretary General of Nepal Olympic Committee spoke about the contribution of Mandela on peace building in South Africa and his great role on extension of Olympic Movement.
The President of Nepal Olympic Committee, Mr. Dhruba Bahadur Pradhan explained about the Nelson Mandela's sacrifice and non violence protest on anti apartheid revolution and democracy in South Africa. The path which he has shown to entire world is mile stone foe the world peace. The President has also expressed heartfelt condolence to the people of South Africa and the members of the bereaved family. Mr. Pradhan also wished that the departed soul may rest in eternal peace.
Nepal Olympic Committee decided to fly its flag half mast for one day in the memory of the father of the nation (South Africa).
