The Nepal Olympic Committee (NOC) organized an interaction program with sports journalists to discuss their role in promoting the upcoming Asian Games, scheduled to be held in Aichi–Nagasaki, Japan, from September 19 to October 4. Secretary General of NOC Mr. Rajiv Shrestha gave an opening speech in the program.
Addressing the program, NOC President Mr. Jeevan Ram Shrestha emphasized that Nepal’s participation in the forthcoming Asian Games must be achievement-oriented. He noted that with limited time remaining, preparations need to be intensified and managed in a more systematic manner.
“There is not much time left for the preparation of the Nepali team. The NOC is fully committed to providing all possible support,” President Shrestha said. He also informed that scholarships have been provided to selected athletes who will represent Nepal at the Asian Games.
Highlighting the vital role of sports journalists in promoting the Games, President Shrestha stated that special arrangements would be made to facilitate information sharing on participating sports and athletes. He further expressed the NOC’s expectation of constructive cooperation from the media.
During the interaction, journalists raised various questions and shared suggestions regarding Nepal’s preparations for the Asian Games.
