President of the Nepal Olympic Committee (NOC), Mr. Jeevan Ram Shrestha along with SG of NOC Mr. Rajiv Shrestha who is also the president of Nepal Rafting and Canoeing Association, bade farewell to the Nepal Canoe & Kayak Team during a special program organized at the NOC office ahead of their participation in the 2025 China Nu Jiang Wildwater Canoeing Asian Championships.
The championship is scheduled to be held from December 16 to 22, 2025, in Nu Jiang Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province, China, and is being organized by the Chinese Canoe Association.
Extending his best wishes, President Shrestha encouraged the athletes and officials to perform with confidence, discipline, and sportsmanship, and to uphold the pride of the nation on the international stage. He expressed confidence in the team’s preparation and highlighted the importance of such international exposure for the development of canoeing and kayaking in Nepal.
The Nepali contingent comprises two officials and two athletes, including:

SG of the Nepal Rafting and Canoeing Association Mr. Sudip Raj Gautam was also present at the farewell program. The Nepal Olympic Committee wished the team a successful competition and a safe journey.
