The President of Nepal Olympic Committee as well as Chief Guest of the program, Mr. Dhruba Bahadur Pradhan has officially opened the sixth Annual General Assembly of Nepal Olympic Committee on 8th March 2013 at Satdobato, Lalitpur. On the Occasion, the Vice-President of Nepal Olympic Committee Mr. Umesh Lal Shrestha welcomed all the GA Members, Observers, Olympian and invited Guest.
During the program, on the day of International Women's day Mrs. Geeta Cheetri Rana President of Nepal Woman & Sports Commission honored Mrs. Rita Shah Mukharjee (First International Female Athlete of Nepal) and Mrs. Bimala Malla Maharjan (First office staff of the sports organization) with cash prize Rs. 25,000.00 each. Mrs. Helga Ryamajhi, who has been honored by IOC Women & Sports Commission and Vice-President of NOC Mr. Sitaram Maskey honored by Olympic Museum were handed over their Certificates respectively. Mr. Chhimi Urkeyn Gurung was honored for his successfully climbing of Highest Peak of the World (Mt. Everest 8,848 meters) with IOC, OCA and NOC flag likewise, Mr. Deepak Maharjan was awarded with cash prize Rs. 25,000 as best Athlete of the year and Mr. Shyam Chitrakar as Sport Journalist of the year. Founder member of NOC Brigadier General Mr. Shushil Shamser Rana was recognized for his remarkable contribution to establish the Olympic Movement in Nepal in 1962.
Secretary General of Nepal Olympic Committee Mr. Jeevan Ram Shrestha presented the Annual report of NOC year 2011, 2012. Treasurer of Nepal Olympic Committee Mr. Chhimi Urkeyen Gurung presented the auditing report of 2011 and 2012 & proposed the NOC budget of 2013-2014, of 2 cores 91 lakh 45 thousand rupees, it was approved unanimously. Olympic Solidarity World Program was briefed by Mr. Sujan Lal Shrestha (NOC Executive Secretary).
The GA member formulate a Dialogue Committee which is lead by Vice-President of NOC Mr. Ganga Bahadur Thapa with member Mr. Chaturananda Raj Baidhya, Mr. Laxman Kumar Shrestha and Mr. Deepak Harsha Bajracharya to enhance the relation with the Government as well Government sports body and Full membership of Nepal Fencing Association has been accepted.
According to the NOC Constitution Assembly has decided to expel Mr. Rabi Rajkarnikar from its EB Member.
GA has also decided to initiate to handle Technical part of National Games which is organized every tow years. Organizing city should shoulder the responsibility of Management part of the National Games.
