A welcome and felicitation program was held in NOC Building, Satdobato for the Newly-appointed Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation and President of the Nepal Olympic Committee Honorable Jeevan Ram Shrestha. On behalf of Nepal Olympic Family, Vice-President of NOC Ms. Jyoti Rana extended congratulations and best wishes to Honorable Minister Shrestha.
In the program Honorable Minister Shresth said that the Nepal Olympic Committee should discuss possible ways to link sports with tourism and stressed on the need to promote Nepali sports with tourism.
He said "We don't have much time but we have a lot of work to do. At this time, if sports can be linked with tourism and the programs follow, sports tourism can be very important. In particular, we need to bring a serious program about the potential of mountain sports.”
General Secretary of the NOC Nilendra Raj Shrestha, Vice President and Executive Director Chaturananda Raj Vaidya along with all the executive members and the Olympic family were present in the program.
