MOU signing between President of NOC and President of Qatar Olympic Committee

President of Nepal Olympic Committee Mr. Jeevan Ram Shrestha signed a MOU with President of Qatar Olympic Committee H.E. Sheikh Joaan Bin Hamad Al-Thani in Nov 16 2016 in Doha, Qatar for the further development of their cooperation in the field of sport and enhance harmonious relationships between the two NOCs and to promote sportsmen and women of Nepal and Qatar, in order to assist with mutual understanding, respect and benefit. In the ceremony ,Government sports authorities from Qatar and from Nepal Secretary General Lama Tendi Sherpa and Vice President Jyoti Rana of Nepal Olympic committee were present.
The MOU stated:
Art 1.
NOC Nepal & QOC both will commit to development of an increased cooperation in the field of Sport, by promoting fundamental principles and values of Olympism on the territory of both countries in the spirit of the Olympic Movement.
Art 2.
NOC Nepal & QOC will enhance their cooperation and encourage meaningful sport exchanges and coordinate with their member national federations.
Art 3.
QOC agrees to support for the training of Nepalese athletes and coaches in Qatar and provide the technical assistance and sports equipments to sports upon request by the NOC Nepal.
Art 4.
QOC will support NOC Nepal to pursue the academic skill of Coaches & Sports Managers in Qatar.
Art 5.
Both NOC Nepal and QOC will encourage the planned development of athlete exchange between their respective member national federations for participation in competitions and training activities.
Art 6.
Encouraging QOC in taking the advantage of High Altitude in Nepal, NOC Nepal will assist the athletes of QOC for the training and sports competition in Nepal.
Art 7.
In the field of Olympic Academy, exchange program will be organized by both NOC Nepal and QOC, in order to accomplish the mission of the Olympic Academies by encouraging their participation in courses, seminars, conferences, forums, meetings and other workshops on topics dealing with sports and physical culture and on subjects of mutual interest.
Art 8.
The exchanges and other projects and activities under this MOU will be carried out in accordance with the invitations submitted and subjects to the laws and administrative and financial regulations in both countries.
Financial and other terms of cooperation listed above are to be determined by the parties separately, in collaboration with respective national sports federations and other related authorities.
Art 9.
This MOU can be amended by agreement of both Parties.
Art 10.
Any dispute that may arise from enforcing this memorandum, both parties must agree in good faith and come to mutual agreement to settle any issue that may rise.
Art 11.
This MOU shall come into force on the day it is signed by both Parties and will be valid for 4 years and renewed automatically for a similar period/s, unless either Party gives the other a six-month written notice of its intention to terminate the same.
Such termination should neither affect nor cancel any of the activities, programs or contracts that had been signed, approved or scheduled before the date of the notice of termination.
Art 12.
This MOU has been concluded and signed in two copies in Arabic and English languages, each copy have the same validity. In case of any difference in interpretation, the English version shall prevail.
