FAREWELL TO SKI PARTICIPANTS FOR THE ALPINE SKIING COMPETITION IN CHINA

Mr. Jeevan Ram Shrestha, President of the Nepal Olympic Committee (NOC) as well as the President of Nepal Ski Association bade farewell to the talented participants of the upcoming Alpine Skiing Competitions. The event is scheduled to take place at the Wanglong Ski Resort in Zhangjiakou Chongli, China, and is organized by the Chinese Skiing Association. The competition will be held from November 28 to December 8, 2023.
The Nepali contingent, led by seasoned players and a dedicated coaching staff, is poised to make a mark in both the Giant Slalom and Slalom matches. The participants, Chhowang Mingyur Tamang and Laxmi Rai, under the guidance of Coach Saphal Ram Shrestha and Team Manager Saran Tuladhar, are geared up for the challenging competitions that lie ahead.
The significance of this competition goes beyond the thrill of the sport, as the players strive to accumulate crucial FIS (Fédération Internationale de Ski) points. These points are instrumental in paving the way for their qualification in the highly anticipated Winter Youth Olympic Games.
During the farewell program, the Vice President and Director General of NOC, Mr. Chaturananda Rajvaidhya, graced the occasion, offering words of encouragement to the participants. The event was further honored by the presence of Mr. Tashi Ghale, a member of NOC, and the board members of Nepal Ski Association.
