1st SABA CHAMPIONSHIP Closing Ceremony was held in Dashrat Stadium Indoor Coveredhall, Tripurashor on Saturday, organized by Nepal Basketball Association. In the program Chief Guest was Deputy Prime minister and Defense Minister Honorable Bhim Rawal , Special Guests were President of Nepal Olympic Committee Mr. Jeevan Ram Shrestha, Member-Secretary of National Sports Council Mr. Keshab Kumar Bista, President of South Asian Basketball Association (SABA) Mr. Ahmed Hafeez and Sri Lankan Ambassador Wmsenevirithna.
Sri Lanka won the SABA Championship winning all the games with 8 points, Nepal were the 1st runner up with 6 points and Maldives finished 3rd with 4 points.
Deputy Prime minister Mr. Rawal presented the trophy and medals to the winners, Sri Lanka. The trophy and medals for the 1st runner up, Nepal was presented by President of NOC Mr. Shrestha. Likewise, Member- Secretary of NSC Mr. Bista presented the trophy to 2nd runner up, Maldives.
President of Nepal Basketball Association and General Secretary of NOC Mr.Lama Tendi Sherpa expressed his felicity towards successful completion of SABA Championship.
