15th Annual General Assembly of NOC and Certificate distribution of Hangzhou Asian Games

The 15th General Assembly of the Nepal Olympic Committee was held today in Lalitpur. The program was inaugurated by Youth and Sports Dig Bahadur Limbu. Shrestha, the Secretary General of the Committee, welcomed the program, and congratulatory speeches were given by National Sports Council Member Secretary Tanklal Ghising, Nepal Hockey Association President Anil Sharma, Nepal Olympian Association President Deepak Bishta, and Nepal Sports Journalist Forum President Devendra Subedi. The speakers emphasized the need to review Nepal's performance in the Hangzhou Asian Games and stressed the importance of starting preparations for the next edition soon. President Shrestha expressed gratitude in the opening session of the program.

President Shrestha conducted the closed session. During the occasion, Nilendra Raj Shrestha, Secretary General of the NOC, presented the progress report for the year 2023, highlighting the institute's success in organizing a remarkable program. Additionally, representing Treasurer Mr. Ratan Tandon, NOC Finance Head Mr. Rajan Shrestha submitted the financial statement for the year 2023 and the estimated budget for the next year. The assembly approved both the progress and financial statements. Various commissions under the committee also presented their work progress and plans.

 

The Nepal Olympic Committee honored participants and winners of the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, during a special program on Saturday. On this occasion, they were also presented with a special certificate from the organizer. In the Asian Games held from October 6 to 21, 253 athletes participated in 29 games on behalf of Nepal. Nepal secured one silver and one bronze in the competition. Arika Gurung made history by winning silver in the women's 67 kg weight category in karate. Additionally, Nepal won a bronze medal in the women's category.
