NOC bade farewell to Nepali athletes participating in the 6th Asian Beach Games 2026

The Nepal Olympic Committee (NOC) officially bade farewell to Nepali athletes participating in the 6th Asian Beach Games 2026 during a program held on Sunday at its office in Satdobato.

 

Nepal will be represented in two sports at the upcoming Games in Sanya, China. The participating disciplines include women’s kabaddi and wrestling.

 

The women’s kabaddi team will consist of six players, while wrestling will feature three athletes—two in the men’s category and one in women’s. In men’s wrestling, Suresh Chunara will compete in the 80 kg category, and Triloki Prasad Yadav in the above 90 kg category. In the women’s division, Sushila Chand will compete in the 70 kg weight category.

 

For the Games, Ram Krishna Shrestha has been appointed as Chef de Mission, with Ayush Joshi serving as the HQ official.

 

Bidding farewell to the team, NOC President Jeevan Ram Shrestha encouraged the athletes to give their best and uphold the nation’s pride through strong performances. He noted that due to qualification based on world rankings, Nepal could not field more sports despite the desire to do so, and extended his best wishes for success.

 

Also present at the program were NOC Vice President Jyoti Rana, Chaturananda Vaidya, Secretary General Rajiv Shrestha, Secretary Mr. Ram Krishna Shrstha, Mr. Bhim Singh Gurung and Member Lakhpa Tsering Lama along with other officials.

 

Earlier, a separate farewell was organized at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, where Minister for Education and Sports Hon. Sasmit Pokharel and Member Secretary of the National Sports Council, Ram Charitra Mehta, also extended their best wishes to the participating team.
On the occasion, the Nepal Olympic Committee also distributed official kits to all participating athletes. The kits included shoes, tracksuits, socks, two t-shirts, half pant, bag, and cap. Special thanks to Kelme for sponsoring the tracksuits.
