Meeting of South Asian Olympic Coucil decided to include 2 more sport for the 13th South Asian Games

Nepal Olympic Committee Hosted the South Asian Olympic Council meeting on Saturday July 21st, 2018. Delegates from South Asian National Olympic Committees namely from Bangladesh Mr. Asaduzzaman Kohinoor (Deputy Secretary General) & Mr. Fakhruddin Haider(Director General), from Pakistan Mr. Muhammad Khalid Mahmood (Secretary General) & Mr. Muhammad Shafiq (Treasurer), from Sri Lanka Mr. Suresh Subramaniam(President), Mr. Maxwell De Silva( Secretary General) & Mr. Buwaneka Padmakumara Herath (Director General), from Maldives Mr. Ahmed Marzooq(Secretary General) & Mr. Thamooh Ahmed Saeed ( Project Coordinator) and from India Mr. Balbir Sing Kushwaha( Executive Member) were present. The meeting was chaired by President of Nepal Olympic Committee/ President of South Asian Olympic Council/ Member of Parliament Honorable Jeevan Ram Shrestha. Vice President of NOC Mrs. Jyoti Rana, Treasurer of NOC Mr. Ratan Tandon and Executive Member of NOC Mr. Nilendra Shrestha were also present.
The meeting decided on the inclusion of 2 more sports (Paragliding and Cricket) which was previously 25 sports (Archery, Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Boxing, Cycling, Fencing, Football, Golf, Handball, Judo, Kabaddi, Karate, Kho Kho, Shooting, Squash, Swimming, Table Tennis, Taekwondo, Tennis, Triathlon, Volley Ball, Weightlifting, Wrestling and Wushu in the upcoming 13th South Asian Games slated on Nepal in 9th March, 2018.
It was also decided that the final decisions on the amendment of the OCA Constitution will be done in the next South Asian Olympic Council meeting slated on Jakarta, Indonesia 20th Aug, 2018 morning.
