Inauguration program of Training for Long Distance Runners

Ambassador of Japan His Excellency Masamichi Saigo inaugurated Program of training for Long Distance Runners in Olympic Building, Satdobato Lalitpur. In the program Vice President of NOC Mr. Purendra Bikram Lakhe welcomed the Ambassador, Mayor of Tamura City Mr. Jinichi Honda and Mr. Soko Aoki (representative from Athlete Society where Executive Board member of NOC Mr. Nilendra Shrestha was the master of ceremony.

Olympian from Japan Ms. Yurika Nakamura will coach the long distance runners from Nepal along with assistant coach Mr. Shoko Suzuki from 21st to 26th February, 2019 in order to help the Nepalese Athletes for the preparation of Olympic 2020, Japan according to the MOU agreement between Athlete Society, Tamura City and Nepal Olympic Committee.

His Excellency Mr. Saigo expressed his delight towards programs like these as this helps better relationship between Nepal and Japan. Mayor of Tamura City Mr. Honda also was very happy and said that even after Olympic 2020 Tamura City will keep supporting the Sport Industry of Nepal.

Vice President of NOC Mr. Lakhey thanked the parties involved and said these programs will help the athletes learn new things and enhance their skills.

There were approximately 35 participants in the program including Athletes, Coaches and NSC representatives.
