13th Annual General Meeting of NOC
The 13th Annual General Meeting of Nepal Olympic Committee was held at NOC Building, Satdobato on Friday. On that occasion, the President of the NOC and Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Honorable Jeevan Ram Shrestha talked about the future policies and programs of NOC. He said that there is no other option for Nepal sports development except to cooperate with all the stakeholders and move forward.
In the closed session, Secretary General of the NOC Mr. Nilendra Raj Shrestha presented the progress report of NOC for the year 2022 and shed light on the future program. Similarly, Treasurer Ratan Kumar Tandon submitted the estimated budget for the year 2023 and submitted the financial statement for the financial year 078-079. The executive secretary of the committee, Sujan Lal Shrestha, gave information about the international competition to be held in 2023 and explained its program in detail.
The major international competitions to be held in 2023 are the 19th Asian Games, the 6th Asian Indoor Martial Arts Games, the 2nd ANOC World Beach Games and the 14th South Asian Games. Among them, the next Asian Games will be held in Hanzhou, China from September 23 to October 8. Similarly, Asian Indoor Martial Arts will be held in Bangkok and Chonburi, Thailand from November 17 to 26. The ANOC World Beach Games will be held from August 5 to 12. The final decision about the upcoming South Asian Games is yet to be made.
From the Marketing and Sponsor Commission, Mr. Gopal Sundar Lal Kashpati, briefed on the NOC award and its future programs. Chairperson Mr. Bishnu Gopal Shrestha of Sports of All, Ms. Bimala Poudel of Women and Sports, Ms. Dolma Lama Shah of Sports and Environment and Dr. Saroj Krishna Shrestha of Medical Commission told about their respective programs held in 2022.
In the opening session, honorary Presiden of the NOC Honorable Dhruba Bahadur Pradhan and Advisor Honorable Sarat Singh Bhandari were honored for being elected as a member of the House of Representatives.On the same occasion, Adviser Mr. Purushottam Paudel and President of Nepal Sports Journalist Forum Mr. Devendra Subedi presented their views on Nepal's sports sector.
