Nepal Olympic Committee (NOC) congratulated the newly elected officials and members of the Nepal Sports Journalists Forum (NSJF) during a program held in Royal Singhi, Ktm. NOC President Jeevan Ram Shrestha said both organizations have been working together to promote the Olympic movement in Nepal. He stressed the importance of resolving current disputes around the NOC to move Nepalese sports forward and praised sports journalists for their role in supporting athletes and raising awareness about sports.
NOC General Secretary Rajiv Shrestha mentioned that problems in Nepalese sports are due to the arrogance and lack of vision among some government officials, which puts athletes' futures at risk. He clarified that the NOC wants to work with the government—not against it—to promote sports globally and protect athletes' rights. He expressed hope for positive support from the government.
NSJF President Niranjan Adhikari said the NSJF and NOC are similar in structure internationally and have a long history of cooperation. He recalled the NSJF's efforts during past challenges in international sports participation. He also shared his commitment to strengthening the skills of sports journalists, especially in today’s digital age.
