Medalist of SAG honored by Weight Lifting Association: 
Nepal Weight lifting Association honored the weight lifters who won medals in the 12th South Asian Games. Nepal won 1 silver and 3 bronze medal in weightlifting event.
In male’s 62kg category Bikash Thapa won silver medal. In Female’s 54kg, 76kg and 63 kg category Devikumari Chaudhari, Taradevi Pun and Junmaya Chantyal won bronze respectively.
Silver medalist was provided with ten thousand and Bronze medalists were provided with 8 thousand rupees cash prize. Mr. Rukesh Tandukar (member of Weightlifting Association and also a former player himself) distributed Tracksuits for the medalists.
 
Financial Support to earthquake victims:
Nepal Weight lifting Association financially supported the players who were victims of the earthquake which occurred in Baisakh.
The victims were categorized into three: injured victims, the victims who lost their families and the victims who lost their houses. They were provided with Thirty Thousand, Twenty Thousand and Fifteen Thousand each according to different categories. Japan Weight lifting Association supported Nepal Weight lifting association with Thirty Thousand US Dollars for these types of Aids.
The players who received the aids were Laksman Ranjat, Mui Lama, Raj Kumar Shrestha, Gapal Bahadur Shrestha, GyanBahadur Shrestha, Surendra Shrestha, Raju Rana(Palpa), Raju Rana(Dhading), Anil Malla, Likki Thapa, Ramesh Pathak, Jiwan Tamang and Buddhi Lama.
 
Construction of new Academy Announced:
In the same program Weight lifting Association also announced the construction of a new Weight lifting and fitness Academy.
The Academy which is going to be built in Nepalgunj Rangasala owned by National Sports Council is planned to be 3 floors. President of Nepal Weight lifting Association Ratan Kumar Tandan said that the price of the Academy is estimated to be 80 thousand US dollars.
The ground floor will have training and fitness hall, where 12 platforms will be made where tournaments can be held. The 1st floor will have total of 10 rooms where women hostel and dinner halls will be present. 2nd floor will have total 12 rooms where men hostel and dinner halls will be present. In 3rd floor there will be a hall where 50 people can study.
 
Mohammad Hassan unable to attend :
In the program Asian Weight lifting Association’s Secretary General Mohammad Hassan was supposed to distribute some goods to the players. Mr. Hassan who was also the member of International Weight lifting Association had his flight cancelled due to different problems in the weather.
 He was supposed to come from the route of Brazil, China and then Nepal. So this distribution program was postponed to when Hassan reaches Nepal. 

The President of Nepal Olympic Committee Jeevan Ram Shrestha, Treasurer of National Sports Council Surendra Hamal and Member of Weight lifting Association Mr. Tandon distributed the cash prize and the certificates. President Shrestha spoke in the program about how Nepal must do much better in the 13th South Asian Games and suggested the players to have a winning mentality and not just participate for the sake of participating.
