11th March 2012 Kathmandu, Nepal: A four-member of Maldives delegation Youth and Sport Minister H.E Mohammad Mahid Sarif, Vice-President of Maldives Football Association Mr.Diyali Mahomad Rasid, Nepal SAARC Secretariat Director Mr.Ibrahim Hujuri and Maldives WADA Chairman Mahid Shareef had visited at the Nepal Olympic Committee Complex and met with Excellency Dhruba Bahadur Pradhan the President of Nepal Olympic Committee and the Secretary General- Mr.Jeevan Ram Shrestha. The main reason of the visit is to strengthen the Olympic Movement in Nepal through Sports.
NOC Nepal President expressed his confidence that initiatives takes by Maldives Youth and Sport Minister H.E Mohammad Mahid Sarif will bring about pragmatic changes in the best interest of the sporting movement in Nepal and praised the remarkable progress made by Maldives in the sports field in recent years and hoped the two sports circles would continue to carry out more exchange and cooperation programmes to further promote sports development.
Maldives Youth and Sport Minister H.E Mohammad Mahid Sarif expressed his thanks to the NOC Nepal for its energetic support to Maldives sports development, and wished the Nepalese Athletes good luck at the forthcoming London Olympic Games 2012.
During the special function they had discuss the preparations of the 2nd South Asian Games which will be held in the Beach City of Maldives 2013. In the program the Vice President of NOC Mr.Umesh Shrestha, Deputy Secretary General Mr. Lama Tendi Sherpa, Executive Members Mr.Sunil Rajkarnikar and Mrs.Jyoti Rana were also present in the function.
