3rd International Sport for Development and Peace day

Nepal Olympic Committee welcomed Mr. Wilfried Lemke, Special Adviser to the UN Secretary General on Sport for Development and Peace. On the Occasion of the 3rd International Sport for Development and Peace day a tree plantation program was held where Mr. Lemke together with NOC President Jeevan Ram Shrestha planted a tree in the Nepal Olympic Committee premises.
President Shrestha presented him with a souvenir and a painting which was painted by the children on the 2nd International Sport for Development and Peace day. Mr. Lemke extended his wishes to the athletes for better future. He added that sport should be used as a tool for development and peace.
In the program General Secretary Lama Tendi Sherpa, Vice President Purendra Bikram Lakhe, President of all Nepal Table Tennis Association Mr. Chaturananda Vaidhya and executive members of NOC Mr. Samim Miya Anshari, Mr. Ramesh Kumar Shrestha, Mr. Nilendra Raj Shrestha and Mr. Ashok Bajracharya were also present.
